If you’ve been here for a while now, you might’ve already read my first post on Surrender. This is the first step in Rising Rooted because it requires us to give up what isn’t serving us to create space (both energetic and physical) for what CAN. The phases of Rising Rooted can apply to our physical health, such as taking the necessary steps to solidify a healthy habit, but the philosophy of Rising Rooted can be applied to any instance in your life where you feel your growth and happiness is restricted for flourishing.

Surrender is softening

toward an aspect of our life. Surrender looks like releasing our control and practicing trust in the unknown. Once we do so, we can embrace the unlimited possibilities that come with an open mind and heart. You can surrender…

  • a job that is unfulfilling or involving a toxic work environment

  • a relationship that is anything less than supportive

  • an unhealthy lifestyle (excessive drinking or smoking, lack of nutritious foods or exercise)

  • a thought pattern that contributes to reactive behavior (chronic stress, anger, judgement, or self-loathing)

This month, I’m sharing one journaling prompt to guide you through each phase of Rising Rooted. This journaling exercise is intended to be just one resource to support you in cultivating a sense of calm as you uproot a limiting belief or behavior and plant the seed for new growth.
